Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-14
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the CLM website, public demo, waitlist, and API (together, the “Service”), operated by CLM (“we”, “our”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
CLM provides a semantic compression layer for structured and unstructured text (transcripts, system prompts, catalogues, and free-form input) intended to reduce token usage when working with language models. The Service is offered in two forms:
- Demo — a public, rate-limited, unauthenticated endpoint used by the landing page and dashboard playground, capped at 800 characters and 5 requests per minute per IP address.
- API — an authenticated, tenant-scoped endpoint accessed with an API key, subject to the usage limits of your plan.
The Demo does not store submitted input; see our Privacy Policy for details.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. If you join the waitlist or receive API access on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these Terms. You are responsible for keeping any API key confidential and for all activity under it.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent Demo rate limits or input size limits.
- Use the Service to process input you do not have the right to submit, or that is unlawful, infringing, or violates a third party's privacy.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Demo as a substitute for the authenticated API.
- Use the Service to build a directly competing product using output obtained through the Demo.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including its underlying compression methods, models, and software, is owned by CLM and protected by intellectual property law; certain aspects are patent pending. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the Service as intended. You retain all rights to the input you submit and the output generated from it for your own use.
6. Beta status and no warranty
The Service is under active development and provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Compression accuracy, availability, and output format may change without notice while the Service is in beta.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CLM is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, misuse the Demo, or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your waitlist data as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to waitlist members by email. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which CLM is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer-protection rights available under the law of your country of residence.
